Kanken Techno’s Plant Business Flourishing at Home and Abroad

Kanken Techno of the foremost dedicated manufacturer of exhaust gas treatment equipment is now running a steady business at home and abroad particularly in its plant segment which deals with volatile organic compounds (VOC) deodorizer.

VOC regarded as one of the substances to discharge the photochemical oxidant and PM2.5 which cause photochemical smog is exhausted from not only the paint solvents used in automobile plants but also chemical, printing and semiconductor plants. According to Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the exhausted VOC across the country was recorded to be 654,000 tons in 2017. The domestic companies emitting VOC have to take necessary measures in order to control the emission.

The lineup of VOC treatment equipment handled by the Kanken’s plant business division includes the Catalyst Combustion Deodorizer which attains a treating effect over 98% with thermal oxidative decomposition at 350℃to 500℃ using a catalyst, the Direct Combustion Deodorizer which uses a direct combustion method at 650℃ to 850℃, the Rotary Concentration Deodorizer which adopts non-flammable synthetic zeolite as adsorbent and the Fixed-type Concentration Deodorizer which has attained more than 95% of treating efficiency by adsorption-concentration-thermal oxidization decomposition using a fixed-type concentrating device for the first time in the industry.

The accumulated number of delivered unit has reached over one thousand units. Particularly, as the fixed-type concentration deodorizer is operated dividing the adsorbent into a few towers, there is no need of stopping operation for maintenance without any requirement for backup equipment. It can contribute to saving of user’s running cost because of the downsized thermal oxidizing decomposition device realizing adsorption/concentration at a high level regardless of the concentration degree of introduced gas.

Domestically, the equipment has been adopted by printing companies and semiconductor manufacturing plants, while lithium ion battery factories are applying to removal of moisture. In China they condense VOC of low concentration which is exhausted from automobile-related factories and the number of delivered Large-sized Stationary Deodorizers have reached 280 units.
As for the demand in the medical field, catalyst combustion equipment is mainly developed for the treatment of the exhausted gas after being sterilized.

During these years there have appeared movements to treat a residual EOG of low concentration in containers used for sterilization or to make a large-scaled rearrangement in some medical equipment manufacturers.

As sterilizing gases become toxic or carcinogenic when exhausted out to the atmosphere, treatments become necessary inevitably. There are continuous deliveries of the equipment one after another to mainly medical equipment manufacturers’ plants. Further responses are drawing people’s attention.
