The private companies including Iwatani on and Toyota Motor which are engaged in the realization and expansion of a hydrogen society will establish a new organization called “Hydrogen Value Chain Promoting Committee” in December in order to accelerate the construction of hydrogen supply chain.

The main nine partners of the new organization are Iwatani, Toyota Motor, Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, ENEOS, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Kansai Electric Power, Kobe Steel, Toshiba and Mitsui. At present the preparatory committee is now trying to get new participations of other companies, local governments and organizations.

The new organization aims to accelerate the initiatives toward the social implementation of a hydrogen society across private companies, and also promote the establishment of systems for the supply of funds in collaboration with financial institutions. .

In the technological development aiming to construct such a supply chain there is an issue of fund procurement now for those who are proceeding with the development. With the establishment of the new organization at this time it draws attention whether the construction of supply chain can be proceeded at an accelerated pace.
