Linx Consulting Holds 3-day Electronic SPG Conference

For three days from October 13 to 15, Linx Consulting held a lecture meeting titled ELETRONIC SPECIALTY GAS CONFERENCE 2020 which focused on SPG for the electronics industry. The conference followed the same of last year, but it was held online this year due to the infection concerns of Covid-19.

In the sessions which lasted for three days, a big theme was allotted on each day, the Market Review and Challenges for the 1st day, the Emerging Trends in Purification and Analytics Technology and Market Outlook for the 2nd day and Gas/Vapor Phase Systems and Challenges Infrastructure and Facilitation Issues for the 3rd day respectively. With the attendance of people from MICRON and TEL, they discussed the current activities and market forecast from a variety of viewpoints as well as the main theme of specialty gases.

As for the industrial gas manufacturer, a lecturer from Air Liquide was on the online stage. Paul Burlingame CEO of Air Liquide Advanced Materials made a presentation with a theme of “Challenges for Electronic Specialty Gases and Gas Phase Materials.” He referred to three points as issues to be solved, firstly “Technology,” secondly “Safety, Quality & Reliability” and thirdly “Cost,” all of which electronics manufacturers are now endeavoring to upgrade. He pointed out that the related material suppliers including SPG manufacturers should also upgrade to solve the three issues accordingly in proportion to the progress of the semiconductor manufacturers.

To solve these issues, he pointed out the importance that the cost structure of SPG should be correctly understood in the market and that investments for a mass production or developments should be made to meet the contents of demand in long partnership with semiconductor manufacturers, through information sharing based on each of the intellectual properties in possession.
