Showa Denko (SDK) established a branch of its local affiliate Shanghai Showa Chemicals in Xian City, Shaanxi Province, China and started business operations in December.

The branch was established as a business and logistic base for specialty gases for the electronics industries. It is SDK’s third business base in China following the ones in Shanghai and Wuhan.

The branch office is located in the Gaoxin General Bonded Area where two persons are working. It functions as a logistic center in the city of Gaoxin, and the new branch is planning to lease a dangerous goods warehouse (about 250m2) in the bonded area to store and control specialty gas cylinders.

To cope with the booming electronics market in China, SDK is reinforcing the specialty gas business there. SDK already established the Wuhan Branch of Shanghai Showa Chemicals in 2018 and also a JV with a local chemical producer to reinforce its supply capacity of carbon tetrafluoride in January 2021.
