AWI Builds 22nd VSU Chiba Ekisan Next Year

Air Water will build its 22nd domestic liquid nitrogen plant of small VSU in Chiba City.

The new plant will be built up in the same premises as Higashi Kanto Gas Center (located in Inage-ku of Chiba City) a filling plant of Air Water East Japan which started operation from April this year. The construction will start in October this year and is planned to start operation in November 2022. With Chiba Ekisan as operator, the company will be owned 30% by Air Water and 70% by Air Water East Japan. Its output capacity is planned to be 1,000Nm3/h of LO and 660Nm3/h of LIN.

In the Kanto area, the addition of the new plant in Chiba to the existing plants in Sagamihara, Utsunomiya and Kashima cities will make Air Water develop a comprehensive system of own liquid plants as if it were to surround the Metropolitan zone.

Cylinder filling bases also are going to be completed including Fuchu Gas Center (Fuchu City), Saitama Gas Center (Kawagoe City), Chiba Sogo Gas Center (Futtsu City) and Tsukuba Gas Center (Tsukuba City). AWI’s own gas supply network is now being completed in Keihin/ Keiyo districts with the addition of East Kanto Gas Center.

Air Water comments, “We are going to also reinforce rationalization of logistics in the whole Metropolitan zone, BVP measures and CO2 reduction measures for transportation as well as our efforts to meet the industrial requirements and the gas demand for medical applications in Keihin/Keiyo Water Front Area.”
