Nippon Sanso HD Acquires Food Freezer Business of USA
Nippon Sanso Holdings, through Matheson Tri-gas of USA, bought the business and the related assets of Cryogenic Systems Equipment and CSE Parts of its affiliate
manufacturing food freezing equipment in Blue Island, State of Illinois (both called CSE).
Matheson is promoting in various forms the reinforcement of the carbonic and dry ice business which is increasingly been demanded for food processing and cryogenic transportation requirements.
They built a CO2 plant each in the State of Pennsylvania in 2018 and in the State of Iowa in 2019. It is characteristic that they are proceeding with their expansion plan from a two-way viewpoint of gas and application, as seen in their participating newly in the said equipment business through the acquisition of MBI Cryogenics in 2017 which manufactures food freezers in California.
The acquisition of CSE ‘s business at this time is deemed to be part of such expansion plan of their carbonic and dry ice business. The acquired business are the production, maintenance and repair of freezing equipment for the food processing industries. In addition, they also bought various facilities related to the production and demonstration. Sixteen employees of CSE will be transferred to Matheson.
They expect to make out a synergy effect from the integrated resource with the food freezing business acquired from MBI, as well as the improvement in access to the customers in the Mid-West Area which was thought to be difficult.
