ENEOS Yokohama Asahi Station Sells CO2-free Hydrogen First in Japan
On August 24, ENEOS Yokohama Asahi Station started to produce and sell hydrogen derived from renewable energy.
It was the first attempt across the country to produce and sell hydrogen derived from a renewable energy inside a commercial hydrogen station. The selling price of hydrogen was kept at 1210 yen per kg (tax included) as before.
In use of the electricity generated by the newly-built solar panel (output of 3.8kW) in the station and from a bio-mass power plant, hydrogen is generated with a solid polymer electrolysis hydrogen generator (made by Kobelco Eco-Solutions) of 30Nm3/h having a supply capacity of 0.82MPa sized W2200×L6500×H2500mm. For information, the device was supplied through Tokico System Solutions.
ENEOS seems to make it a main line of business to sell the CO2-free hydrogen produced in the Yokohama Asahi station from now on. As for the off-site hydrogen so far supplied, ENEOS will keep handling it for backup purposes from a viewpoint of stable supply.
