Showa Denko Group Changes Top Management Personnel

On September 22, the board of director meeting of Showa Denko resolved to appoint Hidehito Takahashi as president and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Showa Denko (SDK) and Showa Denko Materials (SDMC). He is now a Representative Director, Managing Corporate Officer, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of the SDK and Director of SDMC. Regarding the personnel change at this time, the company says, “We aim to establish a unified top management, accelerate integration of the two companies by generational change and promotion of more speedy operation for management of the group.”
 The new top management will take office with effect from January 4, 2022, when Kohei Morikawa of the current President and CEO will become Representative Director and Chairman of the Board of SDK and Hisashi Maruyama likewise will take office as Representative Director and Chairman of the Board of SDMC.
Takahashi of new President aged 59 born on July 21, 1962 and graduated from Tokyo University (Faculty of Economics) in 1986 has the following business careers:
