SEMI has made a prediction that the silicon wafer area shipments for semiconductor will grow up to 16 billion square inch in four years until 2024 which correspond to 1.3 times more than that in 2020.

Silicon wafer is a material of semiconductor substrate used for various electronic products like telecommunication equipment and electric appliances for household use. With the growing demand for those products, it seems that the shipping area of silicon wafer will keep growing.

In the meantime, SEMI shows anxiety saying, “The semiconductor industry is surely in a growing field now , but should the output increase of silicon wafer be not in time for an expanded demand, most probably the growth will not last any longer.”
