Nippon Sanso Builds LCO2 and Dry Ice Plant in Texas
Continental Carbonic Products (CCPI) under Matheson Tri-Gas of Nippon Sanso Holdings’ in the US is going to build a plant to produce liquefied carbon dioxide and dry ice in Bridge Port, Texas for completion scheduled in the early part of 2024.
CCPI which joined the group in February 2014 has production bases of carbon dioxide and dry ice now at 13 locations in total in the Middle West, South and North East Areas.
The company has already one unit of plant in the State of Texas, but has decided to have the second unit to reinforce its supply capacity to cope with the growing demand for liquefied carbon dioxide and dry ice to be used food processing and storing for refrigerated transportation of food.
The planned new plant will have a supply of the material gas from EnLink of energy company in the State. Though the production capacity and investment amount are not disclosed, the Public Relations Dept. of Nippon Sanso says, “A possible production volume of LCO2 in the State of Texas will be expected to be double or more than before.”
