World Sales of Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment Increased for Seven Consecutive Quarters

According to SEMI, a total sales of semiconductor manufacturing equipment over the world amounted to US$26.79 billion for the third quarter (July to September) of 2021 which was an increase by 38% compared with the same term of the previous year and 8% with the preceding term of this year.
It follows that the sales has been increasing for consecutive seven quarter terms since the first quarter of 2020.  

Taking a look at the regional sales segment for the third quarter of 2021, Taiwan took the top position selling US$7.3 billion up 54% from the same term of last year followed by China selling US$7.2 billion up 29% and then Korea selling US$ 5.5billion up 32%.

Japan ranked at the fifth place selling US$2.1 billion up 6% following North America. There was growing demands for semiconductors in extensive fields such as IT, medical and automobile industries where sales are deemed to be growing accordingly.
