Honeywell International announced that the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) of China completed registration procedures for HFO1234ze(E) as a new raw material of cosmetics which is being sold as a propellant by Honeywell. After it is enlisted into the items of raw material, the propellant can be used for cosmetics.

According to Honeywell, China enforced a law for the NMPA registration on May 1, 2021 and provided legal systems to standardize registration and guidelines for a new raw material of cosmetics.

This made it mandatary to register the home made and imported raw materials for cosmetics to be sold in China.

The completion of registration at this time has made it possible for Chinese cosmetic manufacturers to purchase Honeywell’s propellant and sell their related products.

The registered trade name of Honeywell’s HFO1234ze(E)
is Solstice Propellant. According to Honeywell, Solstice Enhance HFO1233zd(E) for cosmetics, personal care products and solvents is also expected to complete the NMPA registration soon.
