Yaskawa Electric arc welding robots business doing fine
Production of arc welding robots at Yaskawa Electric during the April-June period this year moved along at the rate of 550 units a month.
The company is aiming at sales of about 6,000 units for this year, an increase of 30% over the previous year. The number of arc welding robots sold by the company in 2010 amounted to 4,600 units, recording an immense growth, with an increase of 187.5% over the previous year. Sales in the overseas market showed an especially large growth, with an increase of about 264% over the previous year, amounting to 4,000 units. Of all of this, just for 2010 alone China and Korea accounted for 50-60%. About 80% of total units sold goes to areas related to automotive industry such as to component suppliers. Robots are produced in Japan, but in August the assembly of control panels will commence in Europe as well as in the US.
