TNSC Revises Gas Prices Again This year

Taiyo Nippon Sanso (TNSC) will revise the prices of its products for the liquefied gas delivery by tank truck and cylinder of oxygen, nitrogen and argon with effect from the August 1 and also all other cylinder package gas mixtures, gaseous hydrogen and helium related products.

The markup of the revision is somewhere around 15% on the average for the current prices of delivered products. As for helium gas-related products, however, the company says that it will inform a markup percentage depending on the specifications of product.

Since the delivery in February of this year the company has been promoting to revise the prices of various industrial gases for the reason of increased electricity cost and the price hike of steel material as well as raw material. However, the electricity fare and raw material cost have been rising after then. It seems that the cost hiking trend will last for the time being, with view to the movement of energy market or the foreign exchange trend. Regarding helium gas, there still remains in a cost-up condition due to the global tightness of demand and supply balancing. Such a cost-up condition is quite beyond the level of absorption by a private company. That is why the company has come to revise the prices.
