On June 14, SEMI announced a forecast that the world investment in semiconductor front-end process devices will reach a record-high level of $109 billion in 2022

The amount of front-end process investment has grown for four consecutive years since 2019, and it is anticipated that the scale of investment will be record high in 2022. The same level is forecasted remain also in 2023.

In terms of regional segments in 2022, Taiwan will account for $34 billion up 52%, Korea for $25.5 billion, up 7% and $17 billion, down 14%. As for Taiwan, Korea and Southeast Asia, SEMI forecasts that there will be record-high investments in those areas also in 2023.
