Koatsu Gas Kogyo will raise the price of acetylene with effect from its delivery on September 1. The markup of the increase will be 15% or more of the current factory price

The company revised its price of acetylene from the delivery in January of this year for the reason of increase in the price of carbide of raw material. In June of this year, however, the domestic carbide producers announced their second revision of price for the reason of the price-hiking raw material and the continuous rise of electricity cost.

The company has been making efforts to reduce production cost and logistics expenses even since the price revision of acetylene at the beginning of this year. However, the recent rise of the carbide price is judged to be beyond our self-control and the price pass-through is found to be quite indispensable. Therefore, the company is now forced to make a price revision for the second time in this year.

In addition, as for air-separation gases and carbon dioxide gas, the company is going to increase its prices by 15% or more of the current prices with effect from the delivery on September 1.
