Showa Denko Doubles Storing Capacity of Korean SPG

In July, Showa Denko (SDK) held a completion ceremony of the construction to expand the facilities of high-purity specialty gas (located in Anjo-City, Korea) owned by SDK’s 100% affiliate Korea Showa Chemicals.

For the construction at this time the site area of the storing facilities has been made nearly doubled, and the office building has been renovated and two warehouses were newly built. The present storing capacity has turned out to be 1.5 time more than that before the expansion.

The existing facilities are also on the way for renovation and planned to be equipped with a facility of two times more than before within 2023.

 Showa Denko has been maintaining 10% or more growth every year in the high purity SPG business. In Korea the demand of gases for NAND-type flash memory is also showing a boom.

The company thought of stabilizing its gas supply capacity in that country with this arrangement of enrich the logistic base.
