Central Glass and Honeywell Ties in Low-GWP Blowing Agent Business

On November 7, Central Glass and Honeywell USA announced that they have signed a long-term partnership agreement in the business of low-GWP blowing agent HFO-1233zd(E).

With this business collaboration, Central Glass is to supply its product HFO-1233zd(E) exclusively to Honeywell, while Honeywell is to sell the blowing agent as Solstice LBA (liquid blowing agent) of its registered brand domestically and abroad.

The product has a feature of low environmental load with its ozone depletion potential 0 and global warming potential 1. It is capable to present a high insulation property in various insulating materials such as freezer/refrigerator, spray foam and panels.

Central Glass started to produce commercially HFO-1233 zd(E) for the first time in the world at its Kawasaki Plant in October 2012. In January 2017 the company also started the production at its Ube Plant which reinforced the total production capacity.
