“Daikin Industries decided to adopt HFC32 as a refrigerant for its air conditioners. The company will adopt HFC32 in all kind of air conditioners they will start marketing in series in Japan from this fall at first, then they are aiming at marketing it globally in the near future.

During competition in seeking the next generation refrigerator which is environmentally friendly and most suitable for air conditioner has been accelerating all over the world, HFC32, HFO mixed gas, and R290 (LPG) have emerged as main candidates. However, the best one which is suitable regarding both economical and safety, as well as environmental aspects, has not been found yet. Discussions from the wide ranging points of view has continued globally.

As the only manufacture involved in all phased from refrigerant development to development of air conditioning equipment, Daikin considers HFC32 to be the most suitable refrigerant for split air conditioners and heat pumps.”
