On February 6, Taiyo Nippon Sanso (TNSC) announced that it started to discuss and consider a management integration with Astomos Energy of a major LP gas wholesaler in the LP gas business for consumer use. The planned integration will be implemented in January 2024. 　
　
In order to consolidate the LP gas business for consumer use of the TNSC Group, TNSC will start discussion to make an absorption-type merger between Taiyo Nissan Energy wholly owned by TNSC and Astomos Retailing affiliated by Astomos. It is planned to make the integration in January 2024. An estimated sales of LP gas of the integrated company will amount to about 44 billion yen of 240,000 t annually.

The integration is intended to improve efficiency of management in the LP gas business for consumer use now under the declining trend of demand.

Astomos is one of the major LP gas suppliers for TNSC. In the future, TNSC will assure a stable supply of LP gas and challenge a decarbonation issue making the most of the its own versatile network of gas business taking advantage of Astomos’ specialized supply chain for the LP gas business.
