Air Water Materials Affiliates Taiwanese Subsidiary of SPG
Air Water Materials has acquired the shares of Hong-Kuang Hi-Tech (HK) additionally accepting the third-party allotment of capital increase to affiliate the company, following the previous investment in March 2022. The shareholding ratio was 21.9% at the time of investment in March last year, but it has now turned up to 50.1% with an additional investment amounting to TWD180 million (equivalent to JPY830 million).
HK founded in 2010 is a trading company selling specialty gases for use with semiconductor especially of liquefied carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and fluorinated gases.
The company is now promoting a capital investment aiming to have a reinforced productive function and constructing its first gas purifying plant (CO2 of 600t and nitrous acid of 80t per month respectively) to be completed in March 2023 together with a warehouse to store fluorinated gases.
Air Water Materials has so far promoted to reinforce its business in Taiwan by sending a nonexecutive director of Inotec Taiwan of the local affiliate into HK. The capital investment at this time is intended to enhance the relations.
According to Air Water, HK has sturdy relations with the world-famous semiconductor manufacturer of Taiwan. The company has shown its policy to not only maintain its firm share in the Taiwanese specialty gas market, but also to expand the sales channel of chemical materials and gas purifiers to all over the world including the auxiliary fields not limiting to the gas business.
