Air Water to establish General Engineering Center in 2025
Air Water is going to set out to reinforce its engineering system. Aiming to start operation in 2025, Air Water will establish “General Engineering Center (tentative name)” in its Sakai HQ integrating the development, designing, production, operation, maintenance and safety of industrial gas related facilities. Furthermore, Air Water is going to expand the large-sized can manufacturing plant of Sakai Factory of Air Water Engineering (AWE) formerly named Air Water Plant Engineering.
The establishment of an enhanced engineering system is aimed to be responsive to the productive investment of the major semiconductor device manufacturers and also to the expanding industrial gas business of the group in India and North America.
By means of integrating into the General Engineering Center the Air Water Group’s divisions related to gas engineering like Air Water Engineering which engages in manufacturing of industrial gas equipment like gas generators and Air Water Gas Products which engages in the operation and maintenance, Air Water intends to realize smooth cooperation and more efficient project activities.
It is also planned to increase manufacturing bases providing an increased output system of gas generating equipment. Concretely, the premise area for large-sized canning plant in Air Water Engineering’s Sakai HQ is expanded 1.5 times larger with an output capacity doubled to cope with demands for an expected expansion of production by the domestic semiconductor device manufacturers.
In addition, to assist the overseas development of industrial gas business carried out by the Air Water group in India, North America and Vietnam, Air Water is planning to establish a system responding to requirements for production of ASU for a range of small to large sizes.
To this end, Air Water intends to reinforce the function to ship directly for marine transportation from the can manufacturing factory.
In April of this year, the renewal construction started in Sakai HQ including the expansion work of the can manufacturing plant and the construction of business office building of the General Engineering Center. The total amount of investment for the renewal construction amounts to about 6 billion yen with a planned start of operation in April 2025.
