Air Water will build up a new cylinder gas filling plant for oxygen, nitrogen and argon near Faridabad of northern India in December this year. Air Water also will open an office in Gurugram as a center of sales and services so that the market development in the northern area of the country. 　
　In the filling plant to be built on an area of about 7000 square meter in Faridabad, and a tank truck parking space will be attached in the premises. The construction started in June of this year and operation will be started in December.
　Air Water’s gas business in India consists of the onsite gas supply to steel makers and lorry/cylinder gas deliveries to eastern and southern areas customers.
In the northern area of India where the new filling plant will be built, there is New Delhi the capital, around which an industrial agglomeration of manufacturers is on the way, and there is a growth in demand of welding gas in the automobile industry.
The establishment of the new filling plant and sales base in the northern area is aimed for not only rationalization of delivery but also obtaining new demands. In India the business is managed by the Air Water India (president: Kazuo Michitani) which is AWI’s 100% affiliate having Kolkata head office in the east area and branches in Chennai and Bangalore in the southern area.
The Gurugram office to be established is the fourth location of Air Water in India. Air Water says, “Gurugram is a business city neighboring to New Delhi. We are going to contact more closely with the governmental agencies and the Japanese companies which have already advanced into India.” There are 10 representatives sent to Air Water India now, but more people will be sent to expand the business.
As aforementioned, the company is going ahead with plant construction in southern Chennai to produce liquefied oxygen, nitrogen and argon gases aiming at operation in October 2024, and is tackling to expand business in India as the important strategic core area of the industrial gas business abroad.
