H2 & FC EXPO Held at Makuhari Messe
For three days from September 13, an exposition named International Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Expo was held at the Makuhari Messe (Chiba Pref.) relating to hydrogen energy and fuel cells.
The exposition has been held in spring and autumn every year, and it is renamed H2 & FC EXPO from this time. There
were 67 exhibitors who had their booths and introduced new technologies and described their attempts on hydrogen energy.
Although the number of exhibitors was less than the previous exposition in spring, there were quite many visitors showing a lively mood on the first day. At the booth of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, the company exhibited a model of large-sized liquid hydrogen carrier ship and a specimen of marine hydrogen engine. In addition, it introduced the on-going development of hydrogen supply system for the new application to trucks and construction machinery to use hydrogen as fuel. In this connection the company exhibited a tank valve (at a working pressure of 87.5MPa) with a pressure reducing valve.
As for the relative-device manufacturers, Kitz introduced its products of valve and equipment which are adopted by customers for each scene of production, transportation and use. The company showed a positive attitude also in the development of equipment in the production of hydrogen like a water electrolysis device.
At the booth of Ebara of pump manufacturer, they exhibited a pump for ammonia tank. They also displayed a large flowrate turbo-type liquid hydrogen pump and liquid hydrogen pump for hydrogen station which is now under development aiming for use at hydrogen power generation plants and liquid hydrogen receiving bases. A presenter said, “Enquiries from abroad especially Korea are increasing.”
In addition, Mikuni Kikai Kogyo of technology trader exhibited Enapter’s AEM-type water electrolysis hydrogen generator, while Welcon of metal processing manufacturer proposed its heat exchanger for compressors for hydrogen stations which has been newly developed.
