Showa Denko revealed that it will expand its capacity to produce high purity ammonia (NH3) in Japan (Kawasaki), Taiwan and China this year.

After the expansion, the capacity will reach a total of 5,000 tons a year. Currently the capacity of Showa Denko for production of the high purity ammonia is an annual 1,000 tons in Japan, 1,500 tons in Taiwan, and 500 tons in China respectively. With the expansion, the capacity will come to an annual 1,500 tons in Japan, 2,500 tons in Taiwan, and 1,000 tons in China.

Showa Denko accounts for around 44% of the Japanese high purity ammonia market.
