TNSC Raises Price of Cylinder Gases from April

Taiyo Nippon Sanso (TNSC) will raise the prices of all cylinder gases with effect from the delivery in April with an increase range from 10 to 15% or more.

The applicable items for the price revision are general cylinder gases including oxygen, nitrogen, argon, acetylene and those in cylinder bundles or LGC, and also specialty gases such as high-purity gas, gas mixture and semiconductor material gas. The range of increase will be 10% or more than the current price of general cylinder gases and 15% or more than those of specialty gases and hydrogen.

In the distribution of gases, there still remains an increase in the cost of logistics and the rise in material costs due to the “2024 Issue,” which is causing the cost-hike to supply cylinder gases.
In hydrogen gas, on the other hand, the logistics cost is getting remarkable due to the long-distance transportation as well as the infrastructural investment due to the tight supply and demand, caused by the shortage in the crude gas and decreased production bases

In the midst of such a situation, TNSC has so far been taking such measures as the integration of filling stations and the enhancement of delivery efficiency, but the aforementioned cost-hiking is far beyond company’s efforts to absorb. Therefore, the company has decided to revise the selling prices of cylinder gases. For information, the company intends to integrate the deliveries to stock points and also to ask customers for cooperation to return empty cylinders earlier, so as to reduce the burden of logistics cost and mitigate the damage by cost hike.
