AWI Opens Gas Supply Base in Northern India
Air Water newly constructed a cylinder gas filling plant near Delhi, India and started operation in April of this year.
The northern area of India, including the capital region of Delhi, is busy now with the thriving advancements of manufacturers. Above all, the demand for welding gases for the automobile industry is growing remarkably and the other fields of semiconductor and electronics parts are expected to follow the growth in the future. It is the reason why Air Water has decided to rearrange the filling station as a local gas supply base.
However, the area is a so-called blank area for Air Water who has been providing to supply liquid gas by transportation using tank trucks from its liquid producing plant of Jamshedpur in the Eastern India which is located over 1,000 km away. To this end this filling station has a concurrent function as a relay point for tank trucks to deliver liquid.
The new Air Water’s filling plant located at Faridabad in India is located about 60km away from Delhi taking one hour or so. The site area is about 7,000 m2 and the plant area about 4,400m2 attached to by tank truck waiting space on the site.
The types of filling gas are oxygen, nitrogen, argon and carbon dioxide, but the amount of investment is not disclosed.
