Air Water Examines Supply of Green H2 to Chitose Area in Hokkaido
Air Water Hokkaido has started to make examinations toward the development of green hydrogen supply network using renewable energies in Chitose Area of Hokkaido in collaboration with three companies of Mitsubishi, Takasago Thermal Engineering and Hokkaido Electric Power.
At the end of May this year, the four companies including Air Water were nominated for subsidization by Agency for Natural Resources and Energy for the supply of green hydrogen inside Chitose City and also the research project on the development of infrastructure foreseeing tie-ups with the other base areas in Hokkaido aiming to promote introduction of non-fossil energies.
In that area the four companies are going to examine to seek an optimum supply method in respect of such as verification of proposed site to produce and store hydrogen and also an appropriate transportation method. The area includes New Chitose Air Port and an industrial park, and Rapidus plans on a new plant aiming to mass-produce next generation semiconductors. It is also an area which is expected to bring demands for green hydrogen in the future. Chitose City itself is aiming at the local production/consumption of green hydrogen. The four companies are going to consider and examine a supply network putting in perspective the development of hydrogen base by 2030.
