AWI Joins J-Fusion for Practical Use of Nuclear Fusion Power Generation
On September 4, Air Water participated in the Fusion Energy Industrial Council (so-called J-Fusion) of industry-government-academia collaboration.
Based on the Fusion Energy Innovation Strategy posted by the Government, J-Fusion was established on March 29 of this year for contribution to a human development in future using safe and clean energies as well as to the creation of Japan’s and global energy system which is expected to grow to a large-scaled industrial field over the world.
The council is now joined by not only private companies but also universities, research institutes and public organizations. The nuclear fusion power generation utilizes the energy discharged when light-weight atomic nucleuses (like heavy hydrogen and tritiated hydrogen) are fused each other to transform into helium.
As nuclear fusion requires such conditions as high magnetic field, high voltage, vacuum and high pressure, technologies related to industrial gases can be utilized to get them. That is why the company decided to join the council.
