SEMICON Japan to place importance on the contents of seminar

“For three days from December 5 to 7, “SEMICON JAPAN 2012″ (sponsored by SEMI) to be held at the same time as “PV JAPAN 2012″ will probably have a slightly less number of exhibitors by 5 to 8% in comparison with last year, as commented by Yoichi Nakagawa director general of SEMI Japan as of October 10.

In conjunction with the Senkaku (Diaoyu in Chinese) and Takeshima disputes, no great increase in the number of visitors from China and Korea can be expected this year. This year, however, the sponsor will place much importance particularly upon opening of seminars to transmit a message of the latest technology from Japan, considering the fact that Japanese semiconductor equipment manufacturers take a share of 30% in the world market and the total share including semiconductor materials still accounts for so much as 40%.

Much attention will draw attention above all to the opening keynotes on the first day (5th) titled “Toshiba’s Semiconductor and Storage Products Strategy and the Renovation of the Semiconductor Industry in Japan” by Shozo Saito, Corporate Senior Executive Vice President of Toshiba, and “Silicon Innovation for the Bright Future” by Kazumasa Yoshida, president of Intel K.K. and also to the 450nm forum planned as special event on 6th which is titled “the Latest Trend toward Shifting to 450nm” (by G450C, Nikon, Tokyo Electron and IHS iSuppli Japan). For information, next year “PV Japan 2013″ will be held from July 24 to 26, while the “SEMICON JAPAN” will be held independently.”
