Mikuni Kikai Kogyo establishes its local company in Malaysia

In January, Mikuni Kikai Kogyo, who distributes the reciprocating compressors of Mikuni Jukogyo a domestic compressor manufacturer, incorporated a company named Mikuni Kikai Asia Pacific in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with a capital investment equivalent to 25 million yen. The local company mainly engages in maintenance services for the compressors supplied to Tokuyama Malaysia.

Mikuni Kikai Asia Pacific deals with engineering and maintenance as well as produces and sells its own products for supply to Malaysian and other Southeast Asian markets. Particularly, the company focuses on the maintenance of special gas compressors (such as hydrochloric gas) of Tokuyama Malaysia which produces polysilicon for Tokuyama’s photovoltaic cells.

Tokuyama Malaysia has been supplied 14 compressor units by the local company and 20 units by Mikuni Engineering, a distributor of Mikuni Jukogyo.

The gas compressors handled by Mikuni Kikai are mainly “Corblin” metal diaphragm compressors. As for the compressors for the hydrogen stations for which a substantial demand is expected in the domestic market in future, the company is moving to sell Corblin’s reciprocating diaphragm compressors of hybrid type with multistage compression.

The company has made available a lineup of several different specifications, including a specification with which you can raise pressure up to 8MPa by three-staged compression with two-staged reciprocation and further up to 80 to 90 MPa by the diaphragm at the third stage.
