“Horiba Stec started to construct a new plant adjacent to the existing Aso Plant in August last year and has just completed the construction, furnishing the production base with a twice more floor space than before.

The existing plant used to be the main production base of mass flow controller, but the newly expanded plant will produce blood testers, supplementary articles for products and also testing reagents which are the main products for medical use of the parent company Horiba.

The new plant has two stories with a gross floor area of 7,780 square meter on the space adjacent to the existing plant having a floor area of 7,554 square meter. The investment amounted to 2 billion yen including expansion of the clean room in the existing plant. Incidentally, the blood tester production was transferred from Kyoto Head Office.

With the completion of the new plant, Horiba Stec’s Aso Plant has been upgraded to be the mother production base on the largest scale of the HORIBA Group. Furthermore, the business continuity plan (BCP) has been enhanced to a large extent owing to the rearrangement of 2 major production bases in Kyoto and Aso.”
