Matsumoto Sangyo constructs a new plant in China

Matsumoto Sangyo is now constructing, as part of group’s strategy of overseas business, its own plant to manufacture welding machinery in the vicinity of Guangzhou, China aiming for completion in coming June.

In the midst of the recent maturation of the domestic market for welding and cutting demand and under the increasing overseas transfers of manufacturers, Matsumoto established a local company in Guangzhou City of Guangdong province, China to start sales of welding and cutting products in the regional market in March 2011, responding to requests by its main users.

Pearl River Delta with Guangzhou City as its core part is a huge center of automobile industries as it is called “Detroit of Orient”. Japanese automobile manufacturers including Toyota, Honda and Nissan already succeeded in moving into the region in the first half of 2000s.

The relevant supporting plants are still following the advance now, but the history of advance by Japanese industries is long enough to have made their plants localized, as they say. Practically, they aim to procure locally consumables as well as machinery to compose their production lines.

Matsumoto Sangyo first made an advance into the region at a position as a trading company, but stepped ahead into the construction of its own plant with the booming requirements for local production there.

On February 28, 2012 Matsumoto established Foshan Matsumoto Machinery. With an investment of 3 million dollars as a local production wing of Matsumoto Machinery which engages in production of welding jigs, robots and laser systems in the group. The new plant is located in the industrial complex for Japanese small and medium-sized industries of Fosan City adjacent to Guangzhou City.
