Amada ties up with Chinese company to produce press machines
Amada, manufacturer of metal processing equipment and machinery, entered into an agreement to tie up with Ningbo CFG Machinery Industrial (CFG) for the production of general-purpose small and medium-sized press machines, and will start sales to Japanese companies in China and the ASEAN countries from October this year. This tie-up is intended for CFG’s manufacturing of press machines incorporating Amada’s technology into the control system and linking mechanism granted under the technical license.
CFG is a middle-ranking manufacturer located in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province of China, having a production capacity ranging from 25 tons up to 2000 tons, excelling particularly at large-sized machines of 500 tons or more. Amada is known as one of the three major domestic manufacturers of small and medium-sized press machines with Komatsu and Aida Engineering. In the field of all-purpose press machines, however, Amada has been too much engaged in the business with its main domestic users of automotive parts and electric/electronic parts manufacturers to step out to the overseas market. Under such circumstances, Amada is going to propose OEM machines produced by CFG to Japanese manufacturers in such emerging countries as China, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.
Amada’ s head office and its associated companies locally incorporated will sell the manufactured press machines with AMADA brand providing maintenance and services. Amada’s sales target is placed at 100 machines per annum for 2013.
