“DuPont-Mitsui Fluorochemicals will raise the price of R410A, R404A, and R407C, which are all HFC type mixed refrigerants for use with air conditioners, freezers, and refrigerators as of April 1. The price will be up by 35% without no exception for whether the price for OEM or aftermarket.

The market for R400 refrigerants has continuously been weakening along with the recent economic slump in global. There are some application segments where the price for sales has fallen by 50% or more.

DuPont-Mitsui Fluorochemicals has so far made efforts to reduce the cost for procurement of sources skyrocketed by high appreciation of the yen and other costs. However further decrease of sales price and rapid shift to depreciation of yen have been shown since last autumn have made the company to decide to raise the price because it estimated that the supply would be affected when the profitability would become worse.”
