Sales of dissolved acetylene increases largely in Tohoku
The amount of dissolved acetylene sold for August this year throughout Japan showed a large recovery mainly in the Tohoku and other areas which were hit by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Production was up by 6.7% compared with the same term of last year, coming to around 861 tons. Sales were up by 10.5%, coming to around 979 tons, showing a double digit growth.
In terms of sales by area, Hokkaido was up by 20.1%, coming to around 46 tons, Tohoku area by 27.0%, coming to around 31 tons, and Hokuriku area by 21.6%, coming to around 33 tons.
The increases should be in accordance with the growth in the demand for dissolved acetylene for use in recovering area hit by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
