Horiba obtained the international standard ISO22301
Horiba Seisakusho was the first to obtain the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS – ISO22301) International Standard ISO22301 in the analyzer industry in Japan. The certification was issued by the Japan Quality Assurance Organization (JQA).
ISO22301 is the international BCMS Standard to formulate measures for dealing with times of crisis efficiently and effectively. As a general manufacturer of analyzers, Horiba has a general policy for the continuance of its business during periods when a major crisis arises. Through its products and services the company will reduce the effects of the crisis on its customers and business associates by continuing its business activities as much as possible and also by resuming its full business activities at the earliest. Regarding the obtaining of this standard, in addition to measures for disaster prevention for its own self defense, and based on the requirements for certification the company will prepare itself for such unforeseen events as earthquakes, and fires, as well as accidents. It will essentially expand its BCMS basis by bringing in action plans and management systems for restriction of damage and for early recovery.
In the medical field, including the companies it has for manufacturing and distribution in Kyoto, altogether it has a 4 company cooperative setup in conjunction with Futaku Precision Machinery Industries, Kawamoto Chemical Industry, and Earth Cargo. With this it obtained the business continuance certification based on a systematic expansion of its business continuity capability.
Horiba will now aim at deploying ISO22301 in all its fields of business, involving the automotive, medical, semiconductor, environmental, and science fields.
