TNSC’s Singapore affiliate to build new LCO2 plant of 72 t/day capacity

National Oxygen (NOX) of Taiyo Nippon Sanso (TNSC)’s Singaporean affiliate is going to build up a new LCO2 plant inside the bio-diesel plant of Nest Oil located in the western part of Singapore for completion scheduled at the end of 2015, with a total investment of about S$9.5 million (equivalent to 800 million yen approximately).

NOX now possesses a LCO2 plant (with a capacity of 45 tons per day) in its Kuantan Factory located at the east coast of Malaysia which started production in July 2009 and is selling about 1400 tons per month now. In Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia on the other hand, there has been an increasing demand of carbon dioxide for shipbuilding and welding. According to NOX’s estimation, the demand has increased by 40% approximately during these several years. The investment of this time is a response to the growing demand.

The capacity of the new plant to produce liquid carbon dioxide will be 72 tons per day from the crude gas to be supplied from Neste Oil, with which NOX’s total capacity to produce liquid carbon dioxide will rise up to 117 tons per day.
