THERMOS to build a new plant in the Philippines and expand facilities in China

Thermos of the Taiyo Nippon Sanso group is going to establish a new company “VACUUMTECH PHILIPPINES (VPI)” in the Philippines as the production base of stainless vacuum flasks and construct a new plant there.

Thermos is the world largest producer and seller of stainless vacuum flasks/bottles now with the output of 35 million products. To meet the emerging demand in China, Europe and Southeast Asia where glass bottles have been switched to stainless ones during these years, Thermos invests US$36 million (approx. 3.9 billion JPY) to construct a plant with a capacity of 10 million bottles per year) in the Philippine as the fourth overseas production base following the two plants in China and one in Malaysia. The construction will start in this November and the plant will be put into operation in December 2015.

Furthermore, one of the two plants in China will be expanded to have a production capacity up by 15 million bottles per year from the present, with which the total output and sales of the four Thermos plants abroad will be brought up to 60 million bottles per year in 2018.
