Taiyo Nippon Sanso (TNSC) closed a contract through its fully owned US subsidiary Matheson Tri-Gas to supply on-site oxygen and nitrogen for large ethane cracking project of Sasol Chemicals (USA).

Matheson will construct large air separation unit (ASU) to supply gases through pipeline. The company will produce liquid gases including argon as well to supply other customers of surrounding area. This project is the first large on-site gas supply project in the US for Taiyo Nippon Sanso and Matheson.

Sasol Chemicals is the subsidiary of Sasol of the South Africa, based in Johannesburg. Sasol Chemicals is planning to ethane cracking and induction products producing project in Lake Charles, Louisiana, with investing USD8.1 billion. The commercial production to commence in 2018.
