AWI to invest in 2 companies in the medical field
On February 10 Air Water made an investment in 2 companies in the medical field. One of these companies was MC Service, headquartered in Nagano Prefecture, which is engaged in the maintenance of medical equipment involved in sterilization. Air Water will acquire 60% of the issued stock. The investment will be concluded on March 31. Sales of the company total 945 million (period closing in September, 2014). It has 85 employees and 15 locations nationwide. The plan is to have the company collaborate in the Air Water business of sterilization on a commission basis.
The other company is Handa, a long standing trading company (Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture) in the medical equipment business, having a good foothold in the Hokuriku Area. On March 31 70.03% of the issued stock of the company will be transferred to Air Water. The company does business in medical equipment and is strongly positioned in the area related to circulatory organs. Established in 1913, it has sales of 6.43 billion, with 69 employees.
