Honeywell’s HFO Gas Series exempted from the fluorinated gas emission control law
Honeywell made sure with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) that its HFO Gas Series “Solstice ze/zd/yf” was exempted from the fluorinated gas emission control law enacted by the Japanese Government on April 1 of this year, and is going to advertise the series as “Non-fluorinated Mark Applicable Item.”
The definition of fluorinated substances under the current law is focused on the three items of CFC, HCFC and HFC, excluding HFO. Honeywell checked the matter with the regulatory authorities and obtained the above-mentioned response. It follows that Honeywell’s HFO gas series has been included into the same non-fluorinated category as hydrocarbons or carbon dioxide.
Honeywell’s product lineup of the series applicable to the non-fluorinated category is “Solstice yf” of car air-conditioning refrigerant, “Solstice Spray” for aerosol, “Solstice LBA and GBA” of blowing agent for insulating materials and “Solstice Functional Solvent” for industrial requirements for solvents. GWP each of these products is 1 or less.
