AGRI WORLD 2015 had lots of exhibitors from industrial gas field
The AGRI WORLD 2015 of Japan’s leading agricultural industrial trade show was held on October 14 through 16 in Makuhari Messe and a number of exhibitors participated from the industrial gas industries.
Taiyo Nippon Sanso Gas & Welding in collaboration with Tenute of a startup company exhibited “BREATH” a device for local CO2 application to promote photosynthesis. The device measures CO2 concentration all the time by sensor and at a concentration below a certain level the system automatically supply CO2 from a cylinder. A crop increase of about 30% can be expected though depending on the conditions. They say the number of units sold for the past 5 years amounted to 240 to 250.
In a neighboring booth Nippon Ekitan exhibited a spider mite control system for strawberry growers. In this system strawberry seedlings before settled planting are put into a special container made of air-tight material and spider mites are killed by pouring of CO2 which is registered as a pesticide. At the moment about 50 orders have been delivered. A group of four of Showa Denko Gas Products, Koike Sanso Kogyo, Koike Kagaku and Toyoko Kagaku jointly exhibited. Showa Denko Gas Products appealed carbon dioxide to kill spider mites, while Koike Sanso exhibited a mixture gas “Green Gas AG-alpha soil culture.
Toyoko Kagaku exhibited “F-900 Portable Ethylene Gas Analyzer” made by Felix (USA) which measures at a ppb level an ethylene gas concentration in plants and the plant storeroom. It was their first demonstration of the equipment in the exhibition. Air Liquide Japan exhibited “ALIGAL” of food package sealing gas, while Iwatani Agri Green of Iwatani’s affiliate exhibited a full-automatic sowing machine with demonstration which drew much attention.
The exhibition was participated by 1760 exhibitors and had more than 42 thousand visitors for 3 days.
