AWI now fully owns Daido Air Products
Air Water and Daido Air Products have agreed that the former takes over the whole shares of their joint venture Daido Air Products Electronics (DAP) to acquire a 100% ownership effective from December 4. Air Water will continue to sell Air Products’ specialty gases, special chemicals and the relevant supply equipment.
In line with this full affiliation arrangement, it is planned to make DAP merged into Air Water in April 2016, when the business will be transferred to a regional company which lacks in bulk gas business excluding some part in order to aim for an effective integration with the business activities for the general industries. At the same time, the specialty material business line will be integrated with the electronics business division.
DAP was established in January 1997 as a joint venture focused on the electronics industry. At first the ownership consisted of 51% by Air Water and 49% by Air Products, but the recent ownership by Air Products has been declined to 20%.
