Iwatani opens its 5th mobile H2 station
On December 1, Iwatani established a mobile hydrogen (H2) station in Fukuoka Prefectural Office. Prior to the start of operation, Iwatani held an opening ceremony in the prefectural office managed by Fukuoka Prefecture on November 30.
In the opening ceremony Hiroshi Ogawa, governor of Fukuoka Prefecture and organizer of the ceremony greeted saying, “In February of this year Fukuoka Prefecture introduced an FCV for official use for the first time in Kyushu. It was followed by the 5 FC taxicabs under the prefectural own subsidy system. The reason to open the station in the prefectural office is that the place is best located to draw people’s attention. Fukuoka Prefecture is going to provide a preferential treatment and establish a subsidy system of its own in order to promote developments of infrastructure, and to pour our all-out regional efforts to make a major hub of FCV.”
Following the speech, Masao Nomura president of Iwatani of operating company said, “This station is the eleventh one of our company, and the second one in Fukuoka Prefecture in the wake of the first one already in commercial operation established in Kitakyushu City in October 2014. Fukuoka Prefecture is enthusiastic to realize the society of hydrogen energy and there has been a good progress in the development of infrastructures. The registered number of MIRAI across the country now exceeds 100 vehicles. Taking a look of an actual filling practice by ordinary people, I feel the dawn of the H2 energy age.”
Iwatani has so far been operating 4 mobile H2 stations in Chiyoda Ward of Tokyo, Inazawa City Aichi, East and Central wards of Nagoya. The mobile station established this time is the fifth one operated by Iwatani.
The company is planning to deliver 5 mobile H2 stations by the end of this year, which will make the nationwide number of the mobile stations up to nine locations in total.
