ALJ acquires land for business geared to R&D facilities in urban neighborhoods
On December 10, Air Liquid Japan acquired land for business to be actively engaged in new research and development in urban neighborhoods. The land is located in Yokosuka Business Park in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture.
About 60 organizations such as IT related companies and universities have moved into this research park, located 80 minutes from Tokyo and 6km from the center of Yokosuka. A spokesperson from the public communication department of Air Liquide commented, “We would like to establish facilities capable of being active in R&D and in basic research leading to next generation growth. At a new place we made our selection at a location which is an inner-city area with good access.”
As a research and development base in Japan there is Air Liquide Laboratories in Tsukuba. Air Liquide plans to construct and operate this R&D facility itself.
