At a symposium held on November 4, on air separation technology research, The Industry Research Institute of Innovative Technology for the Earth (RITE) announced that they had developed a CO2 recovery membrane for use at Integrated Coal Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) power generation plants. RITE was commissioned by the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry, to develop low cost, high performance CO2 separation membrane technology.
