Chinese solar cell producer LDK Solar has been constructing a plant for silane (SiH4) since November, 2011, in Xinyu, Jiangxi province in China. The operation to be commenced during the first half of 2012, with a capacity of annual 2000 tons. The amount of investment should be USD35 million. The company is aiming at expanding business mainly in the East Asia to supply gases to the growing market such as LCD, semiconductor, and solar cells.
