Saisan establishes Gas One Cambodia of local corporation in Cambodia

Saisan (President: Takehiko Kawamoto, headquartered in Saitama City) formed its Cambodian associates named “Gas One Cambodia” in Phnom Penh City of Cambodia predicting increase in demands for LP gas in line with the economic growth of the country, and on July 28 the local company started business activities to sell LP gas and maintenance services.

Saisan established the local associates in the joint investment with Andy Lay, president and founder of Energy Giant & Trading (referred to as “EGT”) who handles the LP gas business in Cambodia. EGT is a business partner of Gas One Cambodia for the supply of LP gas. The reason of appointing the partner is that EGT is one of the major Cambodian distributors of LP gas. The capital of US$200 thousand consists of investments of 70% by Saisan and 30% by Andy Lay. In the local company Sachiko Shinozuka alone is stationed as president who is going to employ some local employees in due course.

The reason of establishing the local company this time is that the current demand of 120 thousand tons of LP gas (a diffusion rate of 10%) is expected to increase in harmony with the growth of the Cambodian economy. The average age of Cambodian people is so young of 24 that the scale of economy is anticipated to expand as the labor population becomes larger. The target of consumers includes large shopping centers and hotels for business use, industrial complexes for production industries and high-rise condominiums or residences of the rich for personal use.

The establishment of the local company this time is Saisan’s sixth overseas corporation following those in China, Mongol, Vietnam, Indonesia and Australia.
