DAIHEN, opens Wuhan Technical Center to strengthen sales to the automobile industry in China
DAIHEN (President: Tetsuya Tajiri) opens a demonstration room “Wuhan Technical Center” in Wuhan, China where the automobile industry is prosperous. It will be DAIHEN’s fourth technical center in China but the investment amount has not been informed. The center had an opening ceremony on February 28 and will be brought into operation in March.
Wuhan City located in Hubei Province, Central China is a concentrated region of automobile industry like Shanghai, Chongqing and Guangzhou in which Japanese car manufacturers including Nissan and Honda have already been in the market. DAIHEN has so far established service centers focusing mainly on follow-up services in the region, but has come to establish newly a technical center to enhance its after-the-sale service in the area which is indispensable to get orders from major automobile and auto-parts manufacturers in the rapidly growing region.
The technical center always provides about 20 types of welding machines for the Chinese market including such cutting-edge arc welding robots as the spatter-less welding system “Synchrofeed” so that users may utilize the place to carry out verification tests before their introduction of equipment. A large training room to accommodate 70 trainees has also been provided to hold a technical training program. Japanese full-time staff are available to respond quickly to the requirements of Japanese companies.
OTC Shanghai (President: Atsushi Nakatsu, headquartered in Shanghai City) a sales company representing DAIHEN in China has sales bases in Tianjin, Chongqing and Guangzhou other than Wuhan. Technical centers are also established in Guangzhou and Tianjin in addition to Shanghai headquarters. Especially, Shanghai technical center has a scale equivalent to the one of Rokko Technical Center in Japan.
Despite the recent economic stagnation the Chinese investment in automation is so active that DAIHEN’s sales of robots is at an upward pace in 2016 with a more than double-digit growth comparing with the previous year. With the technical centers DAIHEN is going to implement promotional activities for its flagship product like Synchrofeed.
